To provide an anaerobic treatment apparatus and an anaerobic treatment method capable of improving treatment performance of wastewater containing high concentrations of lactic acid.SOLUTION: An anaerobic treatment apparatus includes: a lactic acid decomposition tank 110 that introduces wastewater containing organic acid and in which 50 mass% or more of the organic acid is lactic acid, anaerobically decomposes the lactic acid in the wastewater to produce a primary processed liquid containing acetic acid and propionic acid; a methane fermentation tank 120 that introduces the primary processed liquid and methane ferments the primary processed liquid to produce a secondary processed liquid; return means 104 for returning the secondary treated liquid in the methane fermentation tank 120 to the lactate decomposition tank 110; and sub-substrate adding means 180 and 190 for adding sub-substrate containing one of monosaccharide, disaccharide or polysaccharide and proteins to the wastewater or primary treated liquid.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】乳酸を高濃度に含有する排水の処理性能の向上が可能な嫌気性処理装置及び嫌気性処理方法を提供する。【解決手段】有機酸を含有し、該有機酸のうち５０質量％以上が乳酸を占める排水を導入し、排水中の乳酸を嫌気的に分解して酢酸及びプロピオン酸を含む一次処理液を生成する乳酸分解槽１１０と、一次処理液を導入し、一次処理液をメタン発酵処理して二次処理液を生成するメタン発酵槽１２０と、メタン発酵槽１２０内の二次処理液を乳酸分解槽１１０内へ返送する返送手段１０４と、排水又は一次処理液に単糖類、二糖類以上の多糖類、タンパク質のいずれかを含む副基質を添加する副基質添加手段１８０、１９０と、を備えることを特徴とする嫌気性処理装置である。【選択図】図１
