Zusammenfassung:	To provide: an electrolyte solution which can impart a superior characteristic to a lithium ion secondary battery; and a lithium ion secondary battery showing a superior characteristic.SOLUTION: An electrolyte solution comprises: an electrolyte including a lithium salt; and a nonaqueous solvent containing an alkylene cyclic carbonate and a methyl propionate. The electrolyte includes 30 mol% or more of the lithium salt other than LiPF6 to a total quantity of the lithium salt.
