The coupling comprises interlocking means 10e, 73, 52b which, in inserting the plug 2 into the socket 3, connects a plug body 10 and a slide valve 70 together, and, in withdrawing the plug 2 from the socket 3, disconnects the plug body 10 and the slide valve 70. A tip of the slide valve 70 extends to a tip side of a socket body 50 beyond a steel ball 53.
