To provide a liquid detergent free of isothiazoline-based preservatives widely used in a detergent composition having almost-neutral liquidity.SOLUTION: A liquid detergent composition contains component (A): a nonionic surfactant, component (B): a non-soap-based anionic surfactant, and component (C): an organic solvent represented by general formula (c1). The content of the component (C) is 3.5 mass% or more relative to the total mass of the liquid detergent, and the total surfactant content is 30 mass% or less relative to the total mass of the liquid detergent. As a preservative, neither isothiazolone-based organic sulfur compounds nor benzisothiazolin-based organic sulfur compounds are used.
