PRINTER AND CONTROL METHOD

To provide a printer and a control method for preventing temperature rise and reduction in productivity of a recording head.SOLUTION: A printer includes: printing means for printing an image to paper by discharging ink droplets thereto from a recording head; acquisition means for acquiring a temperature of the recording head corresponding to each ink color during printing by the printing means; and control means for controlling an execution sequence of a plurality of jobs printing the image on the basis of the printing data. When it is determined that the temperature of the recording head corresponding to any ink color exceeds a threshold as a result of acquisition of the acquisition means, the control means changes an execution sequence of a subsequent job so as to preferentially execute a job targeting printing data with a small ink discharge amount of an ink color of the recording head determined that it exceeds the threshold on the basis of the ink discharge amount acquired by the printing data.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 【課題】記録ヘッドの昇温と生産性の低下を防ぐ印刷装置および制御方法を提供する。【解決手段】印刷装置は、記録ヘッドからインク滴を吐出することにより画像を用紙に印刷する印刷手段と、前記印刷手段による印刷が行われている間、各インク色に対応する前記記録ヘッドの温度を取得する取得手段と、印刷データに基づいて画像を印刷する複数のジョブの実行順序を制御する制御手段とを備える。前記制御手段は、前記取得手段による取得の結果、いずれかのインク色に対応する前記記録ヘッドの温度が閾値を超えていると判定された場合、前記印刷データから取得されるインク吐出量に基づいて、前記閾値を超えていると判定された前記記録ヘッドのインク色のインク吐出量が少ない印刷データを対象とするジョブを優先して実行するよう後続のジョブの実行順序を変更する。【選択図】図３
