Zusammenfassung:To provide a planar lighting device which can acquire a downright type backlight unit and the like capable of emitting backlight having high luminance uniformity.SOLUTION: A planar lighting device includes: a substrate; a plurality of light sources mounted discretely on one surface of the substrate; a first reflection layer provided on a light source mounting surface of the substrate; a shielding layer provided being separated from the light sources on the light emission side corresponding to the light sources; and a second reflection layer provided being further separated from the light sources than the shielding layer. The second reflection layer has a cholesteric liquid crystal layer comprising by fixing a cholesteric liquid crystal phase, and a difference between a light emission center wavelength of the light sources and a reflection center wavelength of the integrated reflectance spectrum of the second reflection layer is equal to or less than 50 nm.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】 輝度均一性の高いバックライトを出射できる直下型のバックライトユニット等を得られる面状照明装置の提供を課題とする。【解決手段】 基板と、基板の一面に離散して搭載される複数の光源と、基板の光源搭載面に設けられる第1反射層と、光源に対応して光出射側に光源と離間して設けられる遮蔽層と、遮蔽層よりも光源から離間して設けられる第2反射層とを有し、第2反射層が、コレステリック液晶相を固定してなるコレステリック液晶層を有し、かつ、光源の発光中心波長と、第2反射層の積分反射率スペクトルの反射中心波長との差が50nm以下であることにより、課題を解決する。【選択図】図1
