Zusammenfassung:To provide a discharge lamp and an ultraviolet irradiation device, in which a deterioration in mechanical strength can be suppressed.SOLUTION: A discharge lamp includes an arc tube, a sealing part, a metal foil, an internal lead wire, and a cushioning material. The arc tube is provided with an electrode at the inside thereof. The sealing part is disposed on both ends of the arc tube, and seals the end portion of the electrode. The metal foil is sealed in the sealing part, and one end portion thereof is connected to the electrode. One end portion of the internal lead wire is connected to the other end portion of the metal foil, and the other end portion of the internal lead wire is led out from the sealing part. The cushioning material covers around a first portion of the internal lead wire, the first portion being buried in the sealing part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】機械的強度の低下を抑える。【解決手段】放電ランプは、発光管と、封止部と、金属箔と、内部リード線と、緩衝材とを具備する。発光管は、内部に電極が設けられている。封止部は、発光管の両端に配置され、電極の端部を封止する。金属箔は、封止部に埋設され、一端部が電極に接続されている。内部リード線は、一端部が金属箔の他端部に接続され、他端部が封止部から引き出されている。緩衝材は、内部リード線のうち、封止部に埋設された第1部分の周囲を覆う。【選択図】図2
