To provide a hot water storage type water heater advantageous for restraining water in a hot water storage tank from being agitated.SOLUTION: A hot water storage type water heater comprises: a hot water storage tank 1 comprising a bottom wall 4a, a peripheral wall 4b located at a position higher than the bottom wall 4a, and a through hole (water supply connection port 8) provided in the peripheral wall 4b; a water supply pipe 13 extending to the inside of the hot water storage tank 1 through the through hole from the outside of the hot water storage tank 1, and comprising a water outlet 13d at a position lower than the through hole; and a plate-like or sheet-like baffle 14 opposed to the bottom wall 4a.
