Zusammenfassung:To collect a large amount of hydrogen efficiently by thermally decomposing organic materials such as waste material and waste plastic in a gasification furnace.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a hydrogen generating method in which: waste material, raw garbage and the like are supplied as a carbon component carbonized in a carbonization furnace 3 to a gasification furnace 1, 50 heated to 950°C, and the waste plastic is supplied to it directly without having being carbonized; and in the gasification furnace 1, 50, the carbon component is brought into contact with superheated steam, or a plastic gas is brought into contact with the superheated steam to collect a generated gas containing 50% or more of hydrogen.
