RECORDING DEVICE AND RECORDING METHOD

To suppress deterioration in mage quality of a black image while reducing unevenness of gloss caused in forming an image on a glossy recording medium using aqueous pigment ink.SOLUTION: Image formation is performed using first black pigment ink and second black pigment ink. Glossiness of an area where a prescribed image is formed in a case that the prescribed image is formed on a glossy recording medium using only the first pigment ink is higher than glossiness of an area where the prescribed image is formed in a case that the prescribed image is formed on the recording medium using only the second pigment ink. Recording is performed so that an application amount of the first pigment ink for forming an achromatic image on a prescribed area of the recording medium is more than an application amount of the second pigment ink and so that an amount of the second pigment ink applied onto the first pigment ink is more than an amount of the second pigment ink applied to below the first pigment ink.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8 【課題】 水性顔料インクで光沢系記録媒体に画像形成した場合に生じる光沢ムラを低減しつつ、黒画像の画質の低下を抑える。【解決手段】 黒色の第１の顔料インクと黒色の第２の顔料インクを用いて画像形成を行い、光沢系の記録媒体上に第１の顔料インクのみで所定画像が形成された場合の所定画像の形成領域の光沢度は、記録媒体上に第２の顔料インクのみで所定画像が形成された場合の所定画像の形成領域の光沢度よりも高く、記録媒体の所定領域に無彩色の画像を形成するための第１の顔料インクの付与量が、第２の顔料インクの付与量より多く、かつ、前記第１の顔料インクの上に付与する前記第２の顔料インクの量が、前記第１の顔料インクの下に付与する前記第２の顔料インクの量よりも多くなるように記録を行う。【選択図】 図８
