VEHICLE DOOR LOCK DEVICE AND METHOD OF VEHICLE DOOR LOCK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle door lock device capable of stably performing an automatic door locking operation when an occupant holding a portable device leaves a vehicle.SOLUTION: A vehicle door lock device includes a narrow-area communication device 5, 6, 11 that performs an indoor verification operation and an outdoor verification operation based on a closure of a door, an automatic lock control unit that automatically locks the door when detecting a movement of a portable device 1 outside the communicable area of the narrow area communication device 5, 6, 11 by the indoor verification operation and the outdoor verification operation, and a wide area communication device 4, 10 that transmits and receives vehicle information in a communicable area wider than the communicable area of the narrow area communication device by bidirectional communication between an on-vehicle device 2 and the portable device 1.
