PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retry a job immediately without being affected by a succeeding job when the retry of going back to a device group occurs with respect to a job in which failure is detected.SOLUTION: In a printing system including a plurality of device groups containing one or plural devices having functions for image formation or post-processing, a control device for sequentially processing jobs using the plurality of device groups records job setting, failure cause function, failure detection device group, return destination device group, retry device group, retry frequency and the like as the failure history, determines that failure of the input job is assumed when the function set in the input job contains the failure cause function of the failure history, and suspends execution of the job using the retry device group subsequent to the input job with respect to the retry device group when the failure is assumed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 12 【課題】失敗が検出されたジョブに対して装置群を遡るやり直しが発生した場合に、後続のジョブの影響を受けずに直ちにジョブのやり直しを行う。【解決手段】画像形成又は後処理に関する機能を備える１又は複数の装置を含む装置群を複数備える印刷システムにおいて、複数の前記装置群を使用するジョブを順次処理する制御装置は、ジョブ設定、失敗原因機能、失敗検出装置群、戻り先装置群、やり直し装置群、やり直し回数などを失敗履歴として記録し、入稿されたジョブで設定される機能が失敗履歴の失敗原因機能を含む場合に、入稿されたジョブの失敗が想定されると判断し、失敗が想定される場合に、やり直し装置群に対して、入稿されたジョブより後のやり直し装置群を使用するジョブの実行を保留する。【選択図】図１２
