Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric discharge machining method for a workpiece capable of realizing excellent electric discharge machining.SOLUTION: An electric discharge machining method for a workpiece includes a fixing step of electrically joining and fixing the workpiece to a base and an electric discharge machining step of machining the workpiece by discharge generated between the workpiece joined to the base and a wire by impressing high frequency pulse voltage between the wire and the base after executing the fixing step, by using a wire electric discharge machine (2) having a wire (4) having electric conductivity, guide roller groups (24, 26, 28 and 30) of winding the wire in a plurality of times, the base (42) for fixing the workpiece (11) and having electric conductivity, movement means (48) for cutting the wire in the workpiece fixed to the base by relatively moving the base and the wire and a high frequency pulse power source unit (50) electrically connected to the wire and the base and generating the high frequency pulse voltage, and joins the workpiece to the base by ultrasonic soldering for imparting ultrasonic vibration to melted solder (13) in the fixing step.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
