PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized print device having a print gap switching mechanism.SOLUTION: The print device has: a carriage on which is mounted a print head for performing printing on a sheet; a supporting member that supports a movement of the carriage; and switching means that changes an interval between the print head mounted on the carriage and the sheet by moving the carriage. The switching means includes: a switching member that changes the interval by switching a position of the carriage relative to the supporting member provided in the carriage; a fixed abutting portion that contacts the switching member in the vicinity of one end of a movement region of the carriage; and a movable abutting portion that is provided in the movement region of the carriage in a projectable manner and contacts the switching member while projecting.
