The base material layer 11 is produced by forming a sheet made of a fiber web in which main fiber 12 and binder fiber 13 having a lower melting point than the main fiber 12 are entangled. On the sheet-shaped web, a first protective film 15 made of a low density polyethylene (LDPE) resin is integrally formed, and on top of the other side of the sheet, a second protective film 17 made of a thermoplastic resin film is placed before applying heat and pressure by using a plate-shaped press die, forming a laminate sheet in which the air-impermeable first protective film 15 and the air-permeable/liquid-impermeable second protective film 17 are integrally formed on the base material layer 11. Then the laminate sheet is heat press molded by using a molding die to form a three-dimensional shape of a fender liner 10. 【課題】フェンダーライナの正面及び背面の両面からの着氷防止性を達成できると共に高い吸音性能を発揮でき、且つ立体的な形状に容易に成形することができる車両用フェンダーライナを提供する。【解決手段】車両用の外装用吸音材としてのフェンダーライナは、吸音作用を有する基材層11を備えている。基材層11は、主繊維12とその主繊維12よりも低い融点を有するバインダー繊維13とを交絡させた繊維ウェブからなるシートを製造し、このシート状のウェブの上にLDPE樹脂からなる第1保護膜15を一体的に設け、反対側に熱可塑性樹脂フィルムからなる第2保護膜17を重ねてから、平板状のプレス金型で加熱・加圧して、非通気性の第1保護膜15及び通気不透液性の第2保護膜17が基材層11に一体に形成された積層シートを作成し、この積層シートを成形金型での加熱プレス成形により立体的にフェンダーライナ10の形状に成形する。【選択図】図3
