Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier for catalyst for cleaning exhaust gas from an internal-combustion engine which has excellent OSC over a wide temperature range from low temperature to high temperature in an initial phase of starting operation.SOLUTION: There is provided a carrier for catalyst for cleaning exhaust gas from an internal-combustion engine in which CeOis carried on the surface of a core material made of solid solution of CeO-ZrOor a core material made of solid solution of CeO-ZrO-LaO. An amount of CeOin the core material is 5 to 35 mass% of the mass of the carrier, an amount of LaOin the core material is 0 to 10 mass% of the mass of the carrier, and an amount of CeOcarried on the surface of the core material is 5 to 17 mass% of the mass of the carrier. 【課題】運転開始初期の低温から高温までの広い温度範囲にわたってOSCに優れた内燃機関排気ガス浄化用触媒のための担体を提供すること。【解決手段】CeO2−ZrO2の固溶体からなるコア材又はCeO2−ZrO2−La2O3の固溶体からなるコア材の表面にCeO2が担持された内燃機関排気ガス浄化用触媒のための担体であって、該コア材中のCeO2の量が該担体の質量の5〜35質量%であり、該コア材中のLa2O3の量が該担体の質量の0〜10質量%であり、該コア材の表面に担持されたCeO2の量が該担体の質量の5〜17質量%である内燃機関排気ガス浄化用触媒のための担体。【選択図】 なし
