Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus configured to efficiently detect color misregistration even when an area for writing a color-misregistration detection pattern is reduced due to many belt curling deformations.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus having an intermediate transfer belt 10 which carries toner images of multiple colors, a toner image detection sensor 41 which detects a color-misregistration detection pattern carried on the intermediate transfer belt 10, and color-misregistration detection means 106 which detects color misregistration. The image forming apparatus includes: a driving device 105 which changes an angle of the toner image detection sensor 41 with respect to the intermediate transfer belt 10; a change acquisition section 103 which changes the angle of the toner image detection sensor 41, and acquires changes in output value of the toner image detection sensor 41 due to belt curling deformation of the intermediate transfer belt 10; and correction means 104 which corrects the angle of the toner image detection sensor 41 during color-misregistration detection, on the basis of the changes in output value, so as to reduce the influence of the belt curling deformation of the intermediate transfer belt 10.
