PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photovoltaic array including a plurality of photovoltaic modules that are mounted on a support surface, such as the ground, a ground pad or a roof, for receiving sunlight to generate electricity.SOLUTION: A photovoltaic array includes a plurality of elongated rails and rectangular photovoltaic modules. Each of the rails may include a lower base and an upper cap, which may have an extruded resin structure and cooperate to define a pair of grooves that open in opposite directions from each other. The elongated rails may be mounted on a support structure and may extend in a spaced and parallel relationship to each other. During mounting, edges of the photovoltaic modules may be received by the grooves.
