Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the trouble in sheet conveyance due to the inappropriate water content of sheets in paper cassettes.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus detects and stores the remaining amount of sheets in each paper cassette (S2), compares, upon detection of the paper cassettes having been withdrawn and re-attached to the image forming apparatus (S3, S4), the remaining amount of sheets X2 at the time of the re-attachment with the remaining amount of sheets X1 before the withdrawn (S6), stores the date if the remaining amount of the sheets is increased (S7), and sets the paper cassette with the oldest date as a paper feed object (S9). 【課題】給紙カセットのシートの水分が不適切であることによるシート搬送等の不具合を減少する。【解決手段】各給紙カセット毎のシート残量を検知して記憶する（Ｓ２）。給紙カセットを引き出して再度装着したことを検知した状態で（Ｓ３，Ｓ４）、再装着時のシート残量Ｘ２を引き出し前のシート残量Ｘ１と比較し（Ｓ６）、シート残量が増えた場合、日付を記憶する（Ｓ７）。最も古い日付の給紙カセットを給紙対象に設定する（Ｓ９）。【選択図】図５
