Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing belt base material enabling a fixing belt which constitutes a fixing apparatus responding to a requirement for energy saving and high-speed printing, while enduring heavy-load use environment.SOLUTION: A fixing belt base material 73 formed by electrocasting and containing nickel as a major component, contains 0.4-0.7 percent by mass of phosphorus, 0.003-0.02 percent by mass of sulfur, and 0.012-0.03 percent by mass of carbon. 【課題】定着装置の定着ベルトを構成したときに、省エネルギー、かつ、高印刷速度の要求に対応できる定着装置を実現でき、さらに、高負荷の使用環境に耐える定着ベルトを可能とする定着ベルト用基材を提供する。【解決手段】電鋳法により形成されてなる、ニッケルを主成分とする定着ベルト用基材73において、りんの含有量が0.4質量%以上0.7質量%以下、硫黄の含有量が0.003質量%以上0.02質量%以下、かつ、炭素の含有量が0.012質量%以上0.03質量%以下である定着ベルト用基材。【選択図】図1
