Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic flaw detection method of a shaft member capable of performing accurate detection in a groove or the like formed in the outer peripheral surface of a shaft, and to provide a probe used for the method.SOLUTION: The probe 20 is set so that a set position in the axial direction is predetermined on an outer peripheral surface 10a of a shaft member 10, and ultrasonic wave can be emitted from the set position toward a ring groove 11 to be detected. While the probe 20 is butted on the outer peripheral surface 10a of the shaft member 10, the ultrasonic flaw detection of the ring groove 11 is performed. While the probe 20 is butted on the outer peripheral surface 10a of the shaft member 10, ultrasonic wave is emitted in the direction inclined from the axial direction. Thus, the depth of a crack is detected.
