Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an electrooptical device using an electrooptical effect based on a nematic phase induction/dissipation phenomenon according to the presence/absence of an external electric field, in an isotropic phase temperature range of a nematic liquid crystal material having a negative dielectric anisotropy.SOLUTION: An electrooptical device 10 includes: a first transparent substrate 11 and a second transparent substrate 21 which are oppositely arranged while sandwiching a nematic liquid crystal material having a negative dielectric anisotropy; a pair of pixel electrodes 20 and a common electrode 23 which are formed on at least one nematic liquid crystal material side of the first transparent substrate 11 and the second transparent substrate 21; and a pair of polarizing plates of a first polarizing plate 24 and a second polarizing plate 25 which are arranged on a side opposite to the nematic liquid crystal material side of the first transparent substrate 11 and the second transparent substrate 21. |
