PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply generate a guide map describing a map that is necessary and sufficient for tracing a route from a start point to a destination considering transportation means used by a user.SOLUTION: A route identification process unit 111 identifies a route from a start point to a destination, the route received via an operation unit 104. A guide area setup unit 112 sets a guide area on a map including the start point and the destination, the guide area that has a width in a direction crossing a center line of the route identified by the route identification process unit 111, the width in consideration with transportation means received via the operation unit 104. A guide map generation unit 113 generates, on the map including the start point and the destination, a map in which a notation for an area other than the set guide area is limited.
