description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knitted fabric which can be said to be substantially made of "cotton", and to provide a cotton yarn having a strength enough to be tolerable for various knitting processes without twisting floating cotton of a fiber bundle constituting the cotton yarn which is a non-twisted yarn used for the above-mentioned knitted fabric.SOLUTION: A knitted fabric comprises a cotton yarn 10 comprising a core portion 20 consisting of a core yarn 21 and floating cotton 22 which is substantially a non-twisted fiber bundle coated around the core yarn 21 and a pressing yarn 30 spirally wound around an outer circumference of the core portion 20. A knitted fabric uses the cotton yarn 10. The core yarn 21 and/or the pressing yarn 30 includes a yarn or a spun yarn 30 made of a soluble fiber. A fiber bundle of cotton is used for the floating cotton 22. The knitted fabric is processed such that the soluble fiber in the knitted fabric is solubilized and removed using the cotton yarn 10. The cotton yarn 10 has a certain strength and even is a non-twisted yarn. The knitted fabric using the cotton yarn 10 has flexibility, bulkiness, smooth touch, superior glossiness and lightness and thermal insulation.
