PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device which realizes efficient and effective image display while suppressing deterioration of display quality.SOLUTION: An image display device comprises: light emission means for emitting image information light including multiple beams of partial image information light respectively corresponding to multiple pieces of partial image information; and an optical element into which the emitted image information light is entered, and which focuses the multiple beams of partial image information light respectively on multiple position corresponding to directions of eyeballs of a user (1). An image display device (10) radiates partial image information light transmitted through a pupil of the user among the focused multiple beams of partial image information light to a retina of the user, and thereby allows the user to view partial image information corresponding to the radiated partial image information light. The image display device (10) includes rotation amount detection means (300) for detecting a rotation amount of a head part of the user with respect to a reference direction, and control means (100) for controlling a radiation area of each of the multiple beams of partial image light according to the detected rotation amount.
