Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst structure having improved abrasion strength (abrasion resistance) by eliminating a portion in a catalyst to be readily locally abraded, without change in composition of the catalyst.SOLUTION: A pasty catalyst component 2 is supplied from one surface 20 side of a metal lath substrate 1 and passed through a pair of pressure rollers 7, so as to be supported with the one surface of the metal lath substrate 1 and the lath mesh 24. The metal lath substrate is then corrugated with a press 8 so as to form a catalyst element. A plurality of the catalyst elements are stacked with a space apart 26 from one another so as to form a catalyst structure for purifying exhaust gas passing through the gap. The lath mesh includes an edge part 25 further projecting inclined toward the gap between the one surface side and another surface 21 side of the metal lath substrate than the supported catalyst component 2. The catalyst elements are stacked such that a rake angle is formed between the edge part and the one surface of the metal lath substrate and a relief angle is formed between the edge part and the other surface of the metal lath substrate relative to the stream direction of the exhaust gas. |
