IDLE REDUCTION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain a stop state of an engine even when depression of a brake pedal is released, and to allow quick starting of the engine, with a simple operation.SOLUTION: An idle reduction device comprises a control means 11 for stopping an engine 24 even if operation of a key switch 20 is not performed when engine stop conditions that a brake pedal 15 is depressed and that a vehicle speed is zero are established and for starting the engine 24 without performing the operation of the key switch 20 when the brake pedal 15 is returned after the engine 24 is stopped. The idle reduction device is provided with an idle reduction continuation switch 26. When the idle reduction continuation switch 26 is operated after the engine 24 is stopped, the control means 11 does not start the engine 24 even when the brake pedal 15 is returned, and performs the control to start the engine 24 when the brake pedal 15 is depressed again after the brake pedal 15 is returned.
