PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a human body detector capable of detecting a human body with high accuracy even in a detection area arranged at long distance from the human body detector.SOLUTION: Among a plurality of formed detection areas in a monitoring area set on a monitoring plane as an area for detecting a human body, the respective detection areas equivalent to the number of human body determination areas to be formed in a distant area D are targeted, at least a part of the adjacent detection areas are formed so as to be overlapped with each other so that height h in the perpendicular direction between an edge position Q on the device side in the detection area on the nearest side from the human body detector 1 and an upper end R of a condensation space corresponding to the detection area at one before the farthest detection area from the human body detector 1 does not exceed predetermined height H for human body determination in the respective determination areas to be targeted.
