DEVICE AND METHOD OF PARKING SUPPORT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking support device that can support parking easy for a driver to understand by image information displayed real time in a display device of a vehicle.SOLUTION: An own vehicle position detection part 41 detects an own vehicle position based on a GPS data acquired from a GPS receiver 3, and an aerial photography memory part 43 stores the aerial photography corresponding to the own vehicle position detected by the own vehicle position detection part 41. A periphery object detection part 42 creates a distance map based on a ranging data that is acquired by a distance measuring sensor 2 mounted on the own vehicle by scanning the periphery, and shows the distance of the own vehicle and the periphery object. A periphery map generation part 44 updates a past aerial photography acquired from the aerial photography memory part 43 based on the distance map that periphery object detection part 42 created, and generates the latest periphery map. A display device 5 displays the latest periphery map that the periphery map generation part 44 has generated in a screen.
