Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for a vehicle, capable of heating the inside of a compartment surely while suppressing fuel consumption of an internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: When pre-air-conditioning is set by a driver and a present time (t) becomes a time to confirm pre-heating (S10-S14), engine output Pe1 is set (S16). Then, engine request output Pe2 is set (S18). Next, a setting time gain Gt is set small (S20). Furthermore, a basic setting time tp1 is set in parallel (S22). Then, a basic setting time Tp is multiplied by the setting time gain Gt to calculate a pre-operating time tp2 (S24). The pre-operating time tp2 is subtracted from a pre-air-conditioning starting time tpac to calculate an engine pre-starting time tpe (S26) and when the present time (t) becomes the engine pre-starting time tpe, an engine 11 is started (S28, S30). Further, when the present time (t) becomes the pre-air-conditioning starting time tpac, pre-air-conditioning is started (S32, S34).
