description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a composite article composed of an article of a thermoplastic elastomer composition and an article of a polyamide resin, wherein both the articles are welded together at sufficiently high strength without using an adhesive layer, and the article part of the thermoplastic elastomer composition has excellent appearance and a cushioning property; and a method for producing the thermoplastic elastomer composition giving such composite article.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing a thermoplastic elastomer composition by kneading 100 pts.wt. of a thermoplastic elastomer with (C) 15-120 pts.wt. of an ethylenic copolymer containing an unsaturated carboxylic acid unit, wherein the thermoplastic elastomer is produced by dynamically vulcanizing 50-90 wt.% of (A) an oil-extended ethylene-α-olefin copolymerized rubber and 10-50 wt.% of (B) a propylene-based resin (the sum of the component (A) and the component (B) is 100 wt.%) in the presence of a crosslinking agent, and the oil-extended ethylene-α-olefin copolymerized rubber (A) contains 100 pts.wt. of an ethylene-α-olefin copolymer rubber having a Mooney viscosity (ML100°C) of 150-350 at 100°C and 20-150 pts.wt. of a mineral oil-based softening agent.
