Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid type metal melting furnace that has a high melting efficiency of metal and discharges a small amount of nitrogen oxide and can remove an impurity element even without special incidental facilities and exhibit excellent durability.SOLUTION: A metal melting furnace includes: a crucible 11, a furnace body 10 supporting the crucible, a furnace lid 20, a burner 23 capable of jetting flame into the crucible and an induction heating means. The burner 23 is an oxygen burner that uses fuel gas and combustion-assisting gas with its oxygen concentration being 21 mass% or more to 100 mass% or less. An induction coil 14 as the induction heating means is provided at a position corresponding to a lower half part area 11A of the crucible to surround the crucible 11. A cooling pipe 15 is provided for surrounding the crucible 11 at a position corresponding to at least an upper half part area 11B of the crucible.
