PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique of performing display for easily searching for a target region, selected from a plurality of regions of interest such as lesions, from target images.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus includes: a region obtainment unit configured to obtain a plurality of regions of interest; a selection unit configured to select at least one region of interest from regions of interest to set as a target region; an image obtainment unit configured to obtain a diagnostic image; a display control unit configured to display the positions of the plurality of obtained regions of interest, and to display, on the diagnostic image, existence ranges where corresponding regions on the diagnostic image corresponding to the plurality of obtained regions of interest may exist; and a changing unit configured to change the display mode of the positions of the regions of interest except the target region and the display mode of the existence regions of the regions of interest except the target region by a different method depending on the selection.
