PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further save energy, and to enable the lubrication of the inside when a discharge amount of a refrigerant is changed using a mechanical control valve device.SOLUTION: A variable displacement compressor 1 includes: an intake chamber communication path 62 for bringing an intake chamber Ps into communication with a crank chamber Pc; a discharge chamber communication path 63 for bringing a discharge chamber Pd2 into communication with the crank chamber Pc; a mechanical control valve device 30 for detecting refrigerant pressure inhaled to the intake chamber Ps and varying openings of the respective intake chamber communication path 62 and the discharge chamber communication path 63 to change pressure in the crank chamber Pc; and a solenoid device 31 for shutting off communication between the discharge chamber Pd2 and the intake chamber Ps in a pressure state that a piston 23 strokes, and bringing the discharge chamber Pd2 into communication with the intake chamber Ps in a pressure state that a stroke amount of the piston 23 is a minimum amount.
