PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit breaking device capable of individually and clearly indicating abnormal causes of an electric path in which an abnormality has occurred, even with a compact structure.SOLUTION: A circuit breaking device 1 includes a circuit breaker 2, an abnormality determination unit 3, a tripping coil 4, display means 5, and a switch 6. The circuit breaker 2 is disposed in an electric path 91. The abnormality determination unit 3 determines a plurality of abnormal causes of the electric path 91 individually. When at least one of the plurality of abnormal causes is determined by the abnormality determination unit 3, the tripping coil 4 trips the contact of the circuit breaker 2. The display means 5 displays the abnormal cause determined by the abnormality determination unit 3 when power is supplied. The switch 6 is disposed in a power supply path to the display means 5, and is turned on when the display means 5 displays the abnormal cause determined by the abnormality determination unit 3. This switch 6 has a self-holding function for self-holding the on-state.
