PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric vibration device preventing a piezoelectric vibration piece and a container from coming into contact while suppressing a decrease in mechanical strength of the container.SOLUTION: A crystal vibrator 1 includes: a tuning fork type crystal vibration piece 3' having a tapered part 37 increasing in width continuously in an extension direction of a pair of vibration arms 36, 36 at tips of the vibration arms 36, 36, and a wide-width part 38 having a width larger than the width of the vibration arms at a tail of the tapered part; and a container having a recessed part 20 for accommodating the tuning fork type crystal vibration piece 3', and a thick part 25 and a thin part 21 being formed on an inner bottom surface of the recessed part 20; and a cover 4 airtightly sealing the recessed part 20. A pair of projections 26 g and 26 g projecting in the extension direction of the tuning fork type crystal vibration piece are formed on a side face 25S being the border between the thick part 25 and thin part 21, and The tuning fork type crystal vibration piece 3' is joined to the thick part 25 so that at least a tip part 260 g of the projection 26 g faces the tapered part 37.
