Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foam-type external skin preparation exhibiting an amount/retention of carbon dioxide gas foam appealing to the eye of the user, as well as good usability such as prevention of the preparation sagging from the skin.SOLUTION: The foam-type external skin preparation contains as essential ingredients: hydrophobically modified alkylcellulose; at least one salt selected from a group of carbonate and bicarbonate; and water-soluble acid. The watersoluble acid should preferably be hydroxy acid, and the skin care preparation should preferably contain polyhydric alcohol such as propylene glycol, dipropylene glycol, 1,3-butylene glycol, and 1,2-pentanediol.
