Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer coagulant capable of greatly improving the dehydrating treatment efficiency of sludge by forming firm coarse floc in the dehydrating treatment of sludge or the like.SOLUTION: The polymer coagulant contains a water-soluble polymer (A) formed by radical polymerization of unsaturated monomers containing water-soluble unsaturated monomers (a) having water-soluble unsaturated monomers (a1), having tertiary amine base or quaternary ammonium base having halogen ions as paired ions, as essential monomers, in the presence of saturated aliphatic polycarboxylic acid having two or more carboxyl groups and/or a salt (b) thereof.
