Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption without degrading communication quality of a packet transfer device.SOLUTION: Any one or more of a reception part, a switch part, and a transmission part have a QoS control circuit performing QoS control of a received packet. The granularity of the QoS control is changed depending on a flow rate of packets, and whether or not a power is supplied to the QoS control circuit or a part of the QoS control circuit depending on the flow rate of the packets is controlled, and thereby, a power saving operation mode that allows a power saving operation is provided.
