PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a producing method of a phenol-based fiber which is excellent in heat resistance, flame resistance and chemical resistance and also has high mechanical strength and whose fiber diameter is smaller than or larger than a conventional one with high productivity, and to provide producing methods of a phenol-based carbon fiber and a phenol-based activated carbon fiber using the thus obtained phenol-based fiber.SOLUTION: A producing method of a phenol-based fiber comprises a raw material mixing step for mixing a phenol resin and a fatty acid amide and a spinning step for spinning a raw material mixture obtained from the raw material mixing step to provide a yarn. A producing method of a phenol-based carbon fiber comprises a step for carbonizing the phenol-based fiber which is produced by the producing method of the phenol-based fiber. A producing method of a phenol-based activated carbon fiber comprises steps for carbonizing and then activating the phenol-based fiber which is produced by the producing method of the phenol-based fiber.
