description | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for collecting sericin protein from Thai silk and a method for producing a skin cleansing product.SOLUTION: The method for collecting sericin protein from Thai silk is characterized by mixing Thai silk fibers or cocoons with water at a ratio of the former to the latter of 1:20 by weight and heating the mixture at a temperature of about 110 to 120°C. The heating process is performed under a pressure not exceeding 14 pounds per square inch for about 25 to 30 min. The silk cleansing product comprises 0.01-20.00 wt.% sericin protein, 2.00-20.00 wt.% sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide, 1.00-30.00 wt.% glycerol (for glycerinated soap) or 20.00-75.00 wt.% vegetable or animal fat (for hard soap). The cleansing product is safe for use and helps nourish the skin so as to smooth and soften the skin when used. The product does not cause irritation and thus can be used for unisex and all ages. |
