description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic clamp coagulator which is configured to provide comparatively constant pressure between a clamp member and a blade. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic clamp coagulator comprises: a housing having an actuator; an outer tube having a proximal end connected to the housing, and a distal end; an actuator element arranged within the outer tube so as to be moved reciprocatingly, and connected functionally to the actuator; an ultrasonic waveguide arranged within the outer tube and having a proximal end and a distal end; the blade attached to the distal end of the waveguide, and actuated by ultrasonic wave; and the clamp member with a distal end and a proximal end, which has at least one slot for receiving a tissue pad. The heights of the clamp member and the tissue pad at the distal ends are lower than the heights of the clamp member and the tissue pad at the proximal ends. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
