SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display element 20 includes a semiconductor substrate 3 having a display region including a plurality of pixel electrodes 2, a transparent substrate 6 that is placed opposite to the plurality of pixel electrodes 2 at a predetermined gap, has a transparent electrode 4 having optical transparency and conductivity, and has optical transparency, a sealing section 22 that contains ultraviolet curing resin, surrounds the display region, and sticks a semiconductor substrate 3 to a transparent substrate 6, and a liquid crystal 10 filled into the predetermined gap. The transparent substrate 6 includes the light selective film 21 that is formed to include a region corresponding to the region having the sealing section 22 and has an opening in the region corresponding to the display region.
