Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for straightening a rail for manufacturing the rail excellent in wear resistance, breaking resistance, and straightness by straightening a shape and reducing residual stress even when there is a distribution of strength in a cross section, and also to provide a device for straightening the rail. SOLUTION: The method for straightening the rail includes imparting a tensile force in the longitudinal direction of the rail after cooling the rail and imparting a bending moment for giving displacement in a vertically perpendicular direction to the longitudinal direction of allowing a head to be at an outer side or an inner side while ≥70% of an entire cross section is in a yield state. Accordingly, the rail having reduced bending and warping in the shape, and very low residual stress, and excellent in the wear resistance and the breaking resistance is manufactured.
