PHOTOGRAPHING APPARATUS AND DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographing apparatus and display deice, capable of displaying and photographing both underwater and water-surface images even under a state of wavy water surface. SOLUTION: The photographing apparatus has: an imaging unit 2 in which a subject image is converted into image data and outputted; a semi-underwater detection unit 1e for detecting whether both subject images over and under a water surface 31 concurrently exist; and an image processing and control unit 1 for determining a timing to photograph or display both the underwater and water-surface subject images in accordance with a detection result obtained by the semi-underwater detection unit 1e. Photographing or display is performed in a timely manner in which water-surface and underwater images are formed over and under a boundary band 28 formed from light beams between light beams 25g and 25h which are disturbed by waves on the water surface 31 and do not reach a camera 10.
