LASER TUNING METHOD, VARIABLE WAVELENGTH LASER MODULE, AND PROGRAM OF LASER TUNING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser tuning method and a variable wavelength laser module, that can obtain best characteristics in terms of both optical output and singleness of longitudinal mode. SOLUTION: The laser tuning method includes steps of: (1) supplying a laser light to a grating so as to tilt the grating to an optical axis of a collimated laser light; (2) adjusting the orientation of the grating relative to the collimated laser light; (3) monitoring an optical output value of a light emitted from the grating and singleness of longitudinal mode; (4) calculating an orientation of the grating to exhibit a predetermined optical output value at which the singleness of longitudinal mode shows a predetermined value or above; and (5) adjusting the grating orientation or the optical axis of the collimated laser light to the calculated grating orientation.
