description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode for electrolysis achieving a long-term stable electrolysis operation under a high corrosive atmosphere in a strong acidic bath etc. such as high speed zinc plating and electrolytic copper foil production. SOLUTION: The electrode for electrolysis has an intermediate layer formed between an electrode base material and an electrode catalyst layer, the intermediate layer containing a conductive diamond having fine pores. The substance of the conductive diamond structure constituting the intermediate layer prevents the intrusion of electrolyte or gas, suppresses the peeling of an electrode substance and exhibit remarkable corrosion resistance as a whole electrode to thereby achieving the long-term stable electrolysis operation.
