Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video device capable of displaying an undisplayed subtitle when outputting video by expanding the video when the subtitle simultaneously outputted with the video is arranged in a black band.SOLUTION: The video device scans video formed on the basis of received video information in a horizontal direction to measure a luminance distribution (0205), determines the position of the subtitle on the basis of the luminance distribution (0207), extracts the subtitle from the position of the subtitle determined on the basis of a determination result (0203), and can output the subtitle at a position different from the position of the subtitle arranged by the received video information (0204).
