Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To guarantee a stable operation movement and to reduce costs and loads of on-site work, by executing polarized wave switching only when needed. SOLUTION: A wireless relay apparatus includes: a reception antenna 2 for respectively and independently receiving the vertically polarized wave and horizontally polarized wave of wireless signals radiated from the wireless communication device of a relay source; a signal amplification unit 4 for receiving and amplifying the signals of either of the vertically polarized wave or the horizontally polarized wave from the reception antenna 2; a transmission antenna 5 for radiating the amplified signals toward the wireless communication device of a relay destination; an operation unit 8 for calculating the difference value of the reception levels of the vertically polarized wave and horizontally polarized wave; and a switch control unit 9 and a changeover switch 7 for switching a transmission line so as to input the polarized wave of the higher reception level out of the vertically polarized wave and horizontally polarized wave from the reception antenna 2 into the signal amplification unit 4, when the calculated difference value is equal to or smaller than a prescribed threshold.
