SIDEWALK/ROADWAY BOUNDARY BLOCK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sidewalk/roadway boundary block enabling a visually handicapped person to recognize the presence of a step using a walking stick and allowing even a wheelchair and a baby carriage to comfortably pass between a sidewalk-roadway. SOLUTION: This sidewalk/roadway boundary block is formed of a generally rectangular parallelepiped block body having predetermined height, width, and length, and laid down in the boundary between a sidewalk and a roadway. A sloped part with a predetermined inclination which transverses the block body in the lateral direction is formed on the block body midway in the longitudinal direction. A step of 20 mm is provided between the upper end surface of the block body excluding the sloped part and the roadway while the block body is laid down. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
